Morae is looking for an experienced Architecture Lead to drive the technical direction and architecture of our AI-native product platform, MorAI. This is a senior leadership role focused on defining scalable, secure, and enterprise-ready architecture across our AI and SaaS ecosystem. Location: This role is hybrid and requires 3 days a week on-site presence in Cape Town. Fully remote working is NOT available. You will lead architectural decision-making across AI-driven products and work closely with Product, Engineering, DevEx, and DevSecOps teams. Responsibilities Defining architecture standards and best practices Designing scalable AI-native and microservices-based systems Governing APIs, integrations, and distributed systems Driving architectural consistency across teams Supporting AI platform evolution and innovation Ensuring security, scalability, resilience, and compliance Requirements 10+ years’ experience in software architecture and system design 3+ years in a senior architecture or principal engineering role Strong experience with: AI-native or AI-driven platforms Microservices and distributed systems Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP) API governance and enterprise architecture Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills Ideal Candidate Thinks strategically but can work at technical detail level Can influence teams across Engineering and Product Is passionate about AI innovation and scalable platform design Employment Equity Morae is committed to Employment Equity and transformation.
