Takealot Group, South Africa’s leading online retail and delivery organisation, is looking for a highly talented Performance & Paid Marketing Intern to join our team. The internship programme will be split between all businesses within the Group, namely takealot.com, TFS and Mr D. Responsibilities Assist in setting up, monitoring, and optimising paid advertising campaigns across Google Ads, Meta (Facebook/Instagram), TikTok, and other performance channels. Support A/B testing initiatives for ad creative, audience targeting, and bidding strategies. Help manage campaign performance monitoring and budget allocation. Assist with campaign delivery, ensuring accurate setup and implementation. Compile performance reports using Google Analytics, platform dashboards, and internal tools. Assist with data analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and performance insights. Support post‑campaign analysis and recommendations for optimisation. Help maintain performance tracking sheets and campaign calendars. Collaborate with creative teams to brief performance‑focused ad creative requirements. Assist in testing and optimising ad copy variations for performance campaigns. Support the creation of promotional content for paid social channels. Help coordinate with internal teams for campaign assets and product information. Learn hands‑on campaign management across Google Ads (Search, Shopping, Display, YouTube). Gain exposure to Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads, and programmatic platforms. Assist with audience research, competitor analysis, and market insights. Support external agency coordination and vendor management. Work closely with the Performance Marketing team, Social Media Manager, and external agencies. Assist with commercial campaign execution booked by Retail Marketing teams. Support integration between paid and organic social strategies. Participate in campaign briefings, reviews, and optimisation discussions. Qualifications & Experience Minimum grade 6 in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Business Management, Statistics, Mathematics, Communications, or related field. Required Skills Computer literacy. Strong attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Time management and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Data interpretation and presentation. Understanding of socioeconomic and public policy issues. Attributes Analytical mindset: Comfortable working with data and numbers.
