Cape Town, South Africa | Posted on 07/05/2026 The Financial Accountant isresponsible for overseeing and supporting the day-to-day accounting operationsacross PayGenius, Powertime, and Energy Intelligence. This role ensuresaccurate consolidated financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and robustinternal controls, providing leadership with timely and reliable financialinformation to support strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities Oversee and perform month-end andyear-end close procedures across all three entities in line with grouptimelines. Prepare and process monthlyjournal entries, accruals, prepayments, and intercompany transactions. Reconcile balance sheet accountsacross PayGenius, Powertime, and Energy Intelligence, resolving reconcilingitems promptly. Assist in the preparation ofmonthly management accounts, consolidated financial reports, and entity-levelreporting. Manage accounts payable andaccounts receivable functions across the group where required. Support the preparation andsubmission of VAT returns and other statutory obligations for all entities. Coordinate with internal andexternal auditors, providing supporting schedules and documentation across allcompanies. Maintain the fixed asset registerfor each entity. Monitor and report on cash flowpositions across the group. Ensure compliance with IFRS andall relevant South African financial regulations. Identify and implement processimprovements to enhance financial reporting efficiency and accuracy. Liaise with cross-functional teamsincluding Operations, Legal, Compliance, and Technology across all threebusinesses. Requirements Minimum Requirements Finance or Accounting Degree (BComor equivalent) or a recognized Accounting Diploma. Minimum of 2 years' experience ina financial accounting role. Solid understanding of IFRS andfinancial reporting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel andaccounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, or similar ERP). Strong attention to detail with ahigh degree of accuracy. Ability to manage multiplepriorities and reporting deadlines across several entities. Strong analytical andproblem‑solving skills. Advantageous Currently enrolled in or workingtowards the CIMA qualification. Experience in the fintech,payments, utilities, or energy sector. Exposure to multi-entity or groupaccounting environments. Experience with VAT and SouthAfrican tax compliance. Familiarity with automatedreporting and business intelligence tools.
