Overview RHS Job Title Snackshop/Concession Attendant. Starting pay $20.08/hr. Primary work location in Holden Hall. Responsibilities Oversee and assist in the preparation and serving of food and beverages in a snackshop, cafeteria, retail food courts, or concession event, including set-up/break down of operation and closing of concession locations at spectator and special events. Oversee issuing, delivery, receiving, and verifying food and supply inventories. Assist supervisor in assigning and scheduling support employees. Perform and oversee support employees in the set-up and/or break-down for athletic and special concession event stands. Assist supervisor in maintaining food and supply inventories; requisition, inspect, and verify deliveries. Oversee and assist in the proper handling and storage of food and supplies to ensure efficiency of operations and the elimination of waste and spoilage. Operate a cash register and maintain controls for cash receipts during assigned shift. Operate motor vehicles to transport personnel, materials, supplies, and/or equipment for concession event operations when needed. Oversee and assist in the operation, cleaning, and routine maintenance of preparation, cooking and serving equipment; report unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor. Oversee and assist in the cleaning of dishes, utensils and work areas according to prescribed sanitary standards. Recommend employment, promotion, and termination of assigned support employees. Instruct assigned support employees in food preparation and serving techniques. Required Qualifications Graduation from high school or equivalent. Two years satisfactory experience at the Food Service Worker level, or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience. Working knowledge of food ingredients, and correct preparation and serving techniques. Willingness to work a flexible shift as scheduled. Effective communication with supervisors, managers, and team members. Ability and strong desire to deliver outstanding Spartan experiences to guests and teammates. Ability to receive constructive direction and implement it professionally to improve product or service. Excellent attendance and standards of personal hygiene consistent with sanitation rules and regulations. Some oversight of and cash handling experience. Possession of a valid Michigan operator’s license. Applicant must have good driving record and submit driver/operator license number for a motor vehicle record check. Occasional lifting of over 75 pounds; cash register use and basic computer knowledge.
