A Code 10 Driver’s main function is to deliver goods safely from one destination to another, within the required time frame. Duties and Responsibilities Comply with times and procedures, regulations, and correct use of resources. Responsible for the vehicle – safe handling/operating of the vehicle. Day‑to‑day inspection of the vehicle and reporting of all faults and serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel. Complete vehicle inspection sheet and refuel vehicles. Check truck list and follow route to destination. Check the truck and load before leaving the road. Ensure safe truck operation: use of seat belts, no speeding, no use of electronic equipment, no eating, and no smoking. Ensure adherence to the Road Traffic Act and protect the safety of other road users. Abide by the regulations as set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Abide by company policies and the regulations of the road. Check that vehicles are loaded correctly and verify documentation against the loads. Ensure the correct quantities and loads are delivered. Ensure all proof of deliveries are signed on delivery. Load and off‑load products, including pallets. Return returned products, empty containers (lugs) and undelivered invoices. Comply with 5S standards for a clean, safe, and orderly workplace. Work with all applicable PPE. Be punctual for every shift and able to report to work timeously, even when called early in the morning. Communicate daily activities on the provided system.
