Drive Financial Excellence in a Luxury Conservation Environment Financial Manager – White River, Mpumalanga – Luxury Nature Reserve – Salary: Negotiable (DOE) – Live‑In Position Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled Financial Manager for a luxury nature reserve based in White River. This key leadership role is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring strong financial control, statutory compliance, and accurate reporting to support strategic decision‑making within a conservation‑focused hospitality environment. The successful candidate will take full ownership of financial governance, reporting, and team leadership while supporting the operational and strategic objectives of the reserve. Minimum Requirements BCom / BCompt (or equivalent Accounting qualification) Professional qualification advantageous (CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA, SAIPA or SAICA) Minimum 5+ years’ finance or accounting experience At least 2 years’ management or supervisory experience Strong knowledge of South African tax and statutory requirements Experience in budgeting, cash flow management, and audit processes Advanced Microsoft Excel and accounting system proficiency Key Responsibilities Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and management accounts Monitor and control expenditure in line with approved budgets Ensure accurate and timely monthly financial reporting Manage daily financial operations including reconciliations (bank, creditors, debtors, cash, payroll where applicable) Oversee cash flow, banking, payment runs, and working capital Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including tax, VAT, COIDA, and related legislation Maintain and enforce financial policies, procedures, and internal controls Coordinate annual audit processes and liaise with external auditors Prepare financial reports for management, Board, or Trustees Oversee donor reporting and 18A certificate issuance where applicable Review departmental expenditure and provide financial guidance to management Oversee payroll and related reconciliations where applicable Lead, manage, and develop the finance team Skills & Competencies Strong financial, analytical, and problem‑solving ability High attention to detail with the ability to meet strict deadlines Strong understanding of internal controls and risk management Excellent communication skills with non‑finance stakeholders Hands‑on, proactive, and solutions‑driven mindset Strong planning, organisational, and leadership skills Desirable Experience Background in NPO, trust, conservation, or reserve environments Experience improving finance processes and internal controls Exposure to BI reporting tools and system optimisation Experience in Board or Trustee reporting environments Candidate Profile Detail‑driven financial leader with strong operational awareness Confident working within a dynamic conservation setting Strong team leader with a collaborative approach High integrity with a focus on accuracy and compliance Please note that only suitable candidates will be contacted.
