Purpose Statement The Product Head is accountable for end-to-end ownership of scored lending products and capabilities across Business Banking, including strategy, architecture alignment, roadmap, engineering delivery, product and system performance, regulatory compliance and client experience. The role ensures scored credit products are competitive, scalable, digitally led and underpinned by robust, secure and modern technology foundations. This includes ownership of score-more strategy, advanced decisioning integration, automated workflows, and continuous optimisation across secured, unsecured and transaction-linked scoring ecosystems. The Product Head operates at the intersection of product, technology, risk and data, ensuring credit capabilities are architecturally sound, cloud aligned, observable, resilient and future ready. NB. In the context of the operating model, a ‘product’ could be a product (e.g. Live Better) a channel (e.g. the App), a platform (e.g. Bancs) or a capability. Education (Minimum) Bachelor's Degree Education (Ideal or Preferred) Honours Degree Knowledge and Experience Product & Business Leadership 10+ years senior leadership experience in banking, fintech or digital financial services. Proven experience in scorecard integration and credit workflow optimisation. Technology & Engineering Leadership Experience operating within modern cloud ecosystems (AWS preferred). Understanding of microservices architecture, API-driven design and event-driven integration. Experience in building scalable cloud-native services. Knowledge of DevOps practices including CI/CD, observability and resilience engineering. Oversight of engineering standards and secure coding practices. Understanding of data engineering principles including feature stores and data governance. Exposure to AI and machine learning enablement in credit decisioning and fraud detection. Ability to translate architectural constraints into product roadmap decisions. Data & Decisioning Capability Advanced understanding of credit scorecards and decision strategy frameworks. Experience with policy rule engines and decision modelling standards. Champion–challenger testing and model performance monitoring. Operational metric tracking across approval rates, conversion and profitability. Governance, Risk & Compliance Strong understanding of credit regulatory frameworks. Oversight of model governance lifecycle and audit traceability. Ensures compliance with security, risk and responsible lending standards. People & Operating Model Leadership Leads multidisciplinary squads across product, engineering, data and risk. Drives engineering capability uplift and technical maturity. Mentors technical leads, systems analysts and product managers. Aligns delivery through a unified product operating model.
