Cape Town IT and software Start: ASAP About the job Equitesiss eagerly seeking to appoint a Digital Transformation Lead on a three-year fixed‑term contract to establish and drive a focused capability in process optimisation, systems enhancement, and the responsible application of generative AI across the business. This is across‑functional role reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. This is a newly established role intended to build and embed a structured, technology‑enabled approach to improving how the business operates. The role is focused on delivering practical, measurable improvements in efficiency, data integrity, and re‑imagine workflows through the business. This is a hands‑on design, implementation, and delivery role, rather than an IT support function. The incumbent will be supported by an outsourced IT desktop‑support team for end‑user and infrastructure requirements, enabling a clear focus on business‑process transformation and the responsible application of AI. Working closely with the CFO and senior leadership, the incumbent will support the evolution of a more efficient operating model over a three‑year horizon. Role Impact Over time, the role is expected to: Establish a structured and scalable approach to process optimisation and technology enablement across the organisation Unlock meaningful productivity and efficiency gains by re‑engineering and automating manual, repetitive, and data‑intensive workflows Introduce workflow automation, systems integration and responsible AI capabilities that strengthen data quality, control, and accessibility across systems Drive the cross‑functional adoption of generative AI tools and embed generative AI into existing systems, augmenting productivity, decision‑making, and data quality across the organisation Experience & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Informatics, or a closely related discipline (postgraduate qualification advantageous) 2–5 years of corporate experience in system design, optimisation, and implementation Demonstrated experience with workflow automation tools, ERP or finance systems, and integration platforms Demonstrated hands‑on experience with generative AI tools in a corporate environment, including their responsible, secure, and compliant application to real business problems Experience implementing or evaluating business systems with embedded or AI‑native capabilities Track record of enhancing existing systems and workflows by integrating generative AI through APIs, copilots, or custom‑built assistants Experience driving the cross‑functional or organisation‑wide adoption of generative AI tools, including user enablement, governance, and measurement of impact Exposure to finance, shared‑services, or operational environments advantageous Structured and analytical approach to problem‑solving Ability to translate operational requirements into practical system‑based solutions Ability to establish new processes or capabilities within a developing or evolving environment Clear and professional communication, with the ability to engage across levels Sound judgement and a disciplined approach to execution Ability to work independently and manage multiple initiatives concurrently Ability to generate clear, well‑presented and accurate reports and presentations Strong administrative and organisational skills Ability to deliver under tight reporting deadlines Proficient at MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and AI tools Work well in a team environment Have a willingness to research and implement solutions Adaptable and open to change and improvements Personal qualities of integrity, credibility and commitment, and display high degree of professional ethics What we offer A focused role with direct exposure to the CFO and broader leadership team The opportunity to build and shape a new capability that supports meaningful operational improvement Exposure to the practical application of automation and AI within a listed business A professional, performance‑oriented working environment Market‑related remuneration with a performance‑linked incentive Key Responsibilities Process Discovery & Solution Design: Partner with functional leaders and process owners to map current‑state workflows and identify automation and optimisation opportunities Design future‑state processes that leverage systems, integration, and AI to deliver measurable efficiency gains Systems Implementation & Integration: Build and deploy workflow automation, robotic process automation, and generative AI‑enabled solutions that reduce manual effort, enhance decision‑support, and improve the quality of business outputs Enhance existing business systems by integrating generative AI capabilities – through APIs, extensions, and embedded assistants – where this delivers measurable business value Evaluate, select, and implement new systems with AI‑native and embedded AI capabilities, ensuring they integrate cleanly into the existing technology landscape Lead the organisation‑wide rollout and ongoing optimisation of generative AI tools, establishing standards, guidelines, and user enablement that support safe, effective, and consistent use across teams Establish governance, controls, and monitoring so that automated and AI‑enabled processes remain accurate, auditable, and compliant Performance Measurement & Reporting: Define, track, and report on efficiency metrics and the tangible business outcomes delivered through each initiative Maintain a transparent roadmap of priorities aligned to business strategy and Executive direction Employment Equity Selections will be made in line with the Equites employment equity plan. #J-18808-Ljbffr
