Job Overview We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Head Housekeeper to lead and manage the housekeeping department, ensuring exceptional standards aligned with luxury hospitality expectations. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing all cleaning and preparation processes across the lodge to meet and maintain strict Homekeeping Standards of Excellence and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in managing housekeeping staff, fostering a positive and productive team culture, and ensuring that all guest areas are maintained to the highest standard. This includes supervising outsourced laundry services, monitoring equipment and stock levels, and maintaining the lodge’s aesthetic in line with style and design specifications. A strong focus on training and development is essential, ensuring that all staff are aligned with required SOPs and performance standards. Operational responsibilities include conducting daily room inspections, managing stock control and budgets, overseeing procurement of supplies and uniforms, and handling recruitment and disciplinary processes within the department. This is a dynamic role suited to an individual with leadership experience in high-end hospitality who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is passionate about delivering outstanding guest experiences. Responsibilities Report directly to the General Manager Manage and maintain lodge cleaning and preparation standards Oversee outsourced laundry and ensure quality control Train, develop, and manage housekeeping staff performance Conduct daily room inspections and ensure guest readiness Monitor maintenance issues and maintain snag lists Manage housekeeping stock, consumables, and monthly stock takes Control departmental budgets and procurement processes Ensure effective team communication and staff motivation Handle recruitment, induction, and disciplinary procedures Ensure compliance with SOPs, hygiene, and safety standards Support sustainable and environmentally responsible operations Attend daily operational meetings and coordinate special requests Maintain accurate housekeeping systems and training materials Core Competencies Minimum 5* property experience in a similar role Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent attention to detail Strong organisational and time‑management skills Computer literate Fluent in English (written and verbal) Guest-focused mindset with service excellence approach Problem‑solving ability under pressure Knowledge of housekeeping SOPs and hygiene standards Professional appearance and high energy levels Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays High level of confidentiality and integrity Additional Benefits Housing Meals Uniform Salary Highly negotiable / Live in position Application Information Before applying for this position you need to submit your online resume .
