We’re on the lookout for an Process Controller Chemical to safely and efficiently operate the equipment under his/her control, and co-ordinate plant activities on a shift basis. Ensure optimum production output and quality within budget for the Lime Kiln and Gas Plant. SHEQ Create and maintain a safe work environment by identifying, managing, and correcting SHEQ risks and deviations Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, business practices, legal requirements, and lock-out procedures Complete PJO’s and ensure adherence to safety standards, notifications, and housekeeping requirements Deliverables Take and hand over shifts effectively using electronic reporting systems and ensure continuity of communication Evaluate shift data, quality sheets, and exception reports, taking corrective action where required Monitor and optimise plant performance within operational constraints such as raw materials and services Execute production activities including start-ups, shutdowns, rate changes, pump change-overs, and process adjustments Communicate plant status, operational issues, and production requirements to relevant stakeholders Compile, update, and implement best operating practices and production procedures Ensure immediate attention to equipment defects, process deviations, and non-conformances Shutdown Management Maintain, review, and prioritise shutdown and maintenance plans to ensure effective shut management and communication Compile and communicate plant shutdown and start-up plans in coordination with maintenance and operational teams Systems & Administration Ensure integrity and accuracy of SAP, OEE, IMS, notifications, work orders, and related business processes Complete operational reports, PJO’s, and system transactions in accordance with business requirements Qualifications National Diploma in Pulp and Paper or Chemical Engineering Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Gas Plant, Lime Kiln, and Causticizing operations Relevant plant licence will be advantageous Benefits Opportunity to work within a global organisation that continues to thrive in a rapidly changing world even after 80 years of existence Learning and development programmes to fast-track your career within Sappi Opportunities to travel Market leading leave benefits Employee wellbeing benefits #J-18808-Ljbffr
