Role Overview: As a Bookkeeper, you'll play an essential role in supporting the finance function by ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records, assisting with month-end processes, and maintaining general bookkeeping responsibilities. You'll work closely with the Senior Accountant and broader finance team, helping to ensure strong financial foundations as the business scales. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with between 2-5 years' relevant experience, ideally with an accounting qualification (AAT or equivalent) and looking to deepen their accounting expertise within a supportive and fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Maintain accurate day-to-day bookkeeping, including journals, reconciliations, and ledger management. Process accounts payable and receivable transactions. Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts. Assist with month-end and year-end financial processes. Prepare and review expense reports and supporting documentation. Support invoice preparation, posting and filing. Assist with VAT returns and statutory reporting where required. Work collaboratively with the wider finance team to improve systems and processes. Support ad-hoc finance and administrative tasks as needed. Required Experience & Skills: 2-5 years' bookkeeping/accounting experience, preferably within a small to medium-sized business or agency environment. Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping processes. Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Excel. Experience in preparing reconciliations and handling AP/AR duties. Good organisational skills with strong attention to detail. Able to prioritise and manage time effectively in a busy environment. Reliable, proactive, and keen to learn and develop professionally. Qualifications: AAT qualified (or part-qualified) OR equivalent accounting qualification (e.g. Diploma / Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline).
