Duties & Responsibilities Electrical Maintenance & Infrastructure Develop and implement 3-, 6- and 12-month electrical preventative maintenance plans. Manage electrical maintenance, repairs, upgrades and shutdowns in line with approved plans. Conduct regular inspections, audits and walkabouts to identify risks and ensure system integrity. Coordinate internal teams and external contractors to deliver work safely, on time and within budget. Ensure effective asset management, stock control and accurate site layout documentation. Support business continuity planning and incident response. Electrical Projects Management Define project scope, budgets, timelines and resource requirements in collaboration with senior management. Plan and execute electrical projects including refurbishments, upgrades and new installations. Appoint and manage contractors, installation schedules, shutdowns and commissioning activities. Maintain integrated project plans, quality management plans and project documentation. Monitor project performance, costs and risks; report progress and deviations to stakeholders. Ensure projects meet operational, safety, quality and compliance requirements. Compliance, Governance & Risk Ensure full compliance with electrical, health and safety, environmental and statutory regulations. Develop, implement and audit engineering policies, standards and procedures. Conduct risk assessments and implement control measures to mitigate operational and financial risks. Oversee testing, certification and statutory inspections of electrical systems and equipment. Drive energy efficiency, sustainability and waste management initiatives. Operational Oversight Manage And Report On Generator testing, diesel usage and bowser maintenance Energy, water and LPG consumption and billing Eskom account management and bill verification BMS and SCADA systems maintenance and upgrades Lightning protection systems, cherry pickers and specialised equipment Submit accurate daily engineering and incident reports. People Management Lead, motivate and develop the electrical team to achieve operational targets. Ensure adequate staffing, skills coverage and succession planning. Manage performance, coaching, training and disciplinary processes where required. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement. Ensure work orders are completed, closed and recorded timeously. Financial & Budget Management Plan, manage and control the electrical maintenance and project budgets. Monitor operational costs, Capex, forecasting and variance analysis. Approve expenditure in line with delegated authority. Provide regular financial and performance reports to management. Stakeholder Management Engage with internal stakeholders to understand operational requirements and risks. Communicate planned outages, shutdowns and maintenance activities. Manage supplier and contractor performance. Liaise with Eskom and other regulatory or service providers. Investigate failures and submit root cause and post-incident reports within required timeframes.
