We provide wallet, treasury, payment, off-ramp, digital asset and tokenisation infrastructure to regulated and compliance-conscious businesses across Africa and globally. Our clients include fintechs, payment companies, payroll providers, asset managers, and merchant networks. We are a compliance-led business in a market still dominated by speculation. THE ROLE We are hiring a Finance Officer to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function as the business scales. You will run the operational backbone of finance: monthly close, reconciliations, payments, management accounts, and treasury operations across both fiat and digital asset rails. You will work directly with the CEO and leadership team and have visibility on every part of the business. This is a role for someone who wants more than a bookkeeping seat. You will help design the finance processes, reporting cadence, and controls the company scales on. As the function grows, the role grows with it. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Day-to-day finance operations Run the monthly close process, including reconciliations, journals, and management accounts Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows Support payroll processing and related reporting Maintain the chart of accounts and ensure consistent transaction coding Reporting and analysis Prepare management reporting packs for the CEO and leadership team Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow tracking Translate financial data into clear, actionable insight for the business Treasury and transaction operations Support treasury operations across both fiat and digital asset holdings Reconcile transactions across banking partners, payment rails, and on-chain activity Maintain records that meet both internal and external audit requirements Audit, tax, and regulatory support Support the year-end audit process and ongoing tax compliance, including VAT, PAYE, and income tax Assist the CCO and broader compliance team with financial inputs into FSCA, SARB, and FIC reporting Help maintain financial controls, processes, and systems as the business scales WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR You will likely have: 3 or more years of hands-on finance experience in fintech, payments, financial services, or audit A relevant qualification (BCom in Finance or Accounting, with progress towards CA(SA), SAIPA, ACCA, or CIMA an advantage) Strong working knowledge of management accounts, reconciliations, and the monthly close cycle Exposure to a recognised accounting system such as Xero, Sage, or similar A working understanding of South African tax and regulatory basics (VAT, PAYE, audit support) We will pay particular attention to candidates with: Exposure to fintech, payments, or digital asset environments Experience supporting audits, regulatory reporting, or financial due diligence Comfort working with both fiat and digital asset transaction data Beyond credentials, the right person will be: Detail-oriented and accurate, with strong ownership of work in progress Comfortable operating independently inside a small, high-trust team A clear written and verbal communicator across both finance and non-finance audiences Energised by adopting AI tools to sharpen finance workflow and efficiency WHAT YOU WILL GET A finance seat at one of Africa's most interesting digital asset infrastructure businesses, at the stage where your work shapes how the function operates as it scales Direct exposure to the CEO and leadership team, with visibility across product, commercial, and compliance decisions Equity participation in a business with a clear path to category leadership in African digital asset infrastructure A dedicated learning and conference budget to support certifications and ongoing development across finance, fintech, and digital assets Hybrid working out of our Cape Town office, with flexibility on how your week is structured A genuine growth runway: as the finance function builds out, this role grows with it A compliance-led culture where finance works hand in glove with product, commercial, and regulatory leadership #J-18808-Ljbffr
