This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate financial reporting, adherence to IFRS/GAAP, and supporting strategic decision‑making through robust analysis. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review statutory accounts in compliance with IFRS/GAAP, while implementing and monitoring internal control processes. Review journal entries, reconciliations, and trial balance reports. Oversee general accounting, cost accounting, and budgetary controls, supervising and mentoring the team to ensure processes are consistently followed. Manage inventory processes to ensure accurate valuation, reporting, and integration with financial systems. Develop and enforce policies for inventory recognition and impairment reviews. Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to align financial reporting with physical inventory controls. Implement best practices for inventory audits, cycle counts, and system‑driven controls. Drive ERP/AI‑enabled automation of inventory tracking, forecasting, and reporting. Provide training and guidance to staff on inventory‑related processes, compliance, and system usage. Continuously review and refine workflows to improve accuracy, efficiency, and transparency. Financial Reporting Oversee month‑end and year‑end close activities, including management account preparation. Generate accurate financial statements for holding companies, operating companies, and affiliates. Prepare and deliver management packs, client profitability analysis, and consolidated financial statements. Assist with Budgets and Forecasts. Deliver detailed Cost Analysis Reports quarterly, including projections and variance analysis. Ensure timely preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi‑annual, and annual financial reports. Review and sign off ledgers, trial balances, management accounts, and disclosure notes. Ensure reports for Board Meetings, Audit Committees, and Operations Meetings are accurate, complete, and submitted on time. Audit, Tax & Compliance Interact with external auditors and provide high‑quality documentation. Ensure all tax submissions are completed accurately and on time. Assist with audits, insurance, statutory and financing requirements. Process Improvement & Leadership Identify and recommend changes in financial policies and procedures to enhance efficiency. Promote automation and effective use of ERP/accounting systems. Collaborate with accounting leads to meet deadlines. Ensure adequate training and education programmes are in place for staff. Support onboarding and continuous training initiatives. Continuously review processes, suggest improvements, and drive operational excellence. AI & Digital Transformation Leverage AI‑driven tools to enhance financial reporting accuracy and efficiency. Explore and implement AI solutions for predictive analysis, anomaly detection, and automation of routine tasks. Collaborate with IT and finance teams to integrate AI into ERP/accounting workflows. Stay informed on emerging AI trends in finance and recommend adoption strategies. Requirements BCom Accounting or equivalent degree (SAIPA) Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in a Senior Financial Accountant role with supervisory experience. Prior experience in a shared services environment advantageous. Strong proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel. Corporate finance skills with proven ability to analyse and organise complex financial data. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Highly organised, detail‑focused, and able to thrive under pressure.
