Job Description Accountant Luxury Lodge Greater Kruger Salary: R35,000 per month Accommodation: Live-in Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant for a luxury lodge based in the Greater Kruger region. This role is suited to a finance professional who is able to work independently in a lodge environment while ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and strong financial controls across operations. Role Overview The Accountant is responsible for ensuring financial integrity through accurate transaction processing, compliance with relevant legislation, and support for monthly and annual financial reporting. The position encompasses full-function accounting responsibilities including reconciliations, fixed asset management, accounts payable, VAT submissions, and audit support. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and reliability of the lodge's financial records while supporting operational financial management. Key Responsibilities Process financial transactions accurately and ensure proper financial record keeping Perform reconciliations including bank, supplier, and balance sheet accounts Manage the full accounts payable function including supplier payments and reconciliations Maintain and manage the fixed asset register and ensure correct asset accounting procedures Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure compliance with applicable legislation Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports and year-end financial statements Support internal and external audit processes and respond to audit queries Monitor financial controls and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures Assist with the development and implementation of financial policies such as fixed asset policies Ensure all financial documentation is properly recorded, filed, and accessible for audit purposes Work closely with lodge operational teams to ensure accurate financial information flow Liaise with suppliers, auditors, and internal departments when required Skills & Technical Requirements Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls Experience with accounting systems and financial softwareAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills Strong reconciliation and analytical skills Understanding of VAT regulations and financial compliance requirements Ability to manage financial information across multiple sites and systems Strong organisational and time management skills High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively Qualifications & Experience BCom Degree or Diploma in Accounting or related field Minimum of 3 years' accounting experience in a similar role Experience managing full-function accounting processes Experience supporting audits and preparing financial documentation Personal Attributes Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities Professional communication and interpersonal skills High level of integrity and accountability Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Ability to work in a remote lodge environment Suitable candidates who meet the above requirements are invited to submit their CV to apply for the role. #J-18808-Ljbffr
