Job Title: Food Processing Manager Location: Farm Near Clanwilliam, 8135 Company: Cape Mangoes Employment Type: Full-Time Commencement Date: July 13th 2026 About the Role We are seeking a motivated and experienced Processing Manager to oversee all activities related to the pulp and drying plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily production operations, supervising staff, maintaining product quality, enforcing food safety standards, and ensuring efficient processing from raw fruit intake through final packaging. This position requires a hands‑on leader who can manage both people and processes within a fast‑paced food production environment while maintaining high operational, hygiene and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily production activities to ensure efficient processing, from intake of raw fruit (mango, citrus, guavas, strawberries, peaches, figs and apricots) to final packaging. Responsible for managing the pulp and drying teams. Ensure that workers’ tasks are carried out inside the factory and occasionally outside on the farm during planting, clearing and weed spraying activities. Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure operational reliability. Maintain product quality and enforce food safety standards by monitoring critical control points and compliance systems. Analyse production data and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Track inventory, including raw materials and finished goods, ensuring proper stock rotation and accurate record keeping. Enforce health and safety procedures to maintain a safe, compliant and clean working environment. Maintain accurate production, quality and operational documentation and reporting. Minimum Qualifications & Requirements Diploma or degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Production Management, Agriculture, Engineering or a related field preferred. Previous experience in food processing, fruit processing, manufacturing or factory supervision. Experience within drying operations, pulp production or agricultural environments will be advantageous. Knowledge of food safety systems such as HACCP, GMP and hygiene standards. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple operational priorities simultaneously.
