We are looking for an experienced Solutions Architect with deep expertise in payments and card systems to join a leading bank in Johannesburg. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who can design and implement end-to-end card/payment solutions while aligning with enterprise architecture principles. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement scalable payments and card system solutions . Lead architectural decisions across digital banking, card issuance, ATM/POS, and payment gateway integrations . Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to translate strategy into technical architecture . Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, regulatory standards, and security policies . Mentor engineering teams and influence senior stakeholders on architectural decisions. Required Skills & Experience: Strong experience in card and payment systems architecture . Familiarity with digital banking, ATMs, POS, card schemes (Visa/Mastercard), and payment gateways . Solid understanding of core banking integrations . Experience in hybrid environments (on-premise + cloud) . Knowledge of data governance, reporting, and analytics in a banking context. Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP Messaging & Integration: Kafka, MQ, APIs (REST/SOAP) Databases: SQL, NoSQL, RDBMS CI/CD & DevOps tools Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field . Professional certifications in TOGAF, ArchiMate, or equivalent enterprise architecture frameworks (advantageous). Relevant certifications in Payments, Cloud, or Security a plus. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication with ability to influence senior stakeholders. Mentorship and team leadership experience.
