For our terminal organization, we are looking for an HSE Manager who will play a key role in driving and safeguarding our Health, Safety & Environment performance. Your role As HSE Manager, you advise and support the Management Team in achieving business objectives in a safe, compliant and sustainable manner. You are responsible for the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the HSE Management System in line with VTTI standards and local legislation. You will lead the local HSE team and act as a key point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders. You report directly to the General Manager. Key responsibilities Develop and implement local HSE policies in line with the VTTI Corporate HSE strategy Set, monitor and report on annual HSE objectives and improvement plans Lead and coordinate internal and external audits (including ISO 45001) Manage incident, accident and near‑miss investigations Conduct site inspections, safety walks and workplace observations Ensure correct use and management of PPE and safety systems Organize and maintain HSE training, awareness and competency programs Prepare and present HSE performance reports to management and authorities Act as primary contact for regulators, emergency services and external parties Advise management on HSE risks, compliance and continuous improvement Your profile Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (e.g. Mechanical, Chemical, Process or Marine Engineering) Minimum 10 years’ experience in Oil & Gas or an industrial environment At least 5 years’ experience in a managerial HSE role Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, audits and management systems Excellent communication, influencing and coaching skills Analytical, resilient and decisive Fluent in English (Afrikaans and/or Xhosa is a plus) Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) What we offer A strategically important HSE role with significant impact An international and professional working environment within VTTI Opportunities to drive change and continuous improvement Competitive employment conditions A culture where safety, collaboration and responsibility come first #J-18808-Ljbffr
