Senior Specialist-Hedge Funds Cape Town, Apex House The Senior Specialist-Hedge Funds will assist the Fund Accounting division responsible for all South African priced funds including Unit Trusts, Priced Pooled, Priced Segregated and South African Hedge Funds in terms of business processes and applications. The individual will assist with issues arising from operations, review and improve processes, and be responsible for projects aimed at process improvement within Fund Accounting. Skills Required The Senior Specialist will be expected to: Improve Fund Accounting’s daily and monthly processes using automation and technology. Assist with bespoke processes and standardize Fund Accounting processes to enable automation for all SA priced funds. Hold a qualification in Accounting, Data Science or Data Analytics (B.com specializing in data science and statistics or equivalent). Have 4‑5 years working with financial data in an investment space. Act as the primary liaison with ICT regarding applications used by Fund Accounting and development requirements. Manage project delivery, including end‑to‑end testing and implementation within Fund Accounting. Provide solutions for complex client requirements, including client engagement, investigation and testing. Have experience with various fund types, locally or internationally. IT and Systems Skills and Knowledge Advanced level experience using Excel, InvestOne and related systems. Proven competency and aptitude for working with systems such as Copilot for Business. Skills and Abilities Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). Identify problems and solve effectively using process automation. Confident, enthusiastic and self‑motivated. Track record of achievement. Analyze and solve problems. Assist in process improvement. Establish and manage relationships. Liaise with clients and system developers. Knowledge Strong understanding of investment product knowledge. Strong understanding of financial markets, instruments and systems. Advanced Excel skills. Proficiency in process automation.
