JOB TYPE: Permanent (In – Office) LOCATION: South Africa, Somerset West REPORT TO: Head of Supply Chain KEY PURPOSE OF JOB The Expeditor will be responsible for tracking and expediting open orders to ensure on‑time delivery, while also sourcing and managing non‑bill of materials (non-BOM) goods required for operations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining production flow and minimizing delays. KEY TASKS Order Tracking & Expediting Monitor and track all open purchase orders Follow up with suppliers to ensure on‑time delivery Expedite late or critical orders to prevent production delays Maintain accurate delivery schedules and status updates Communicate order status proactively to internal stakeholders Supplier Coordination Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers Resolve delivery, quality, and documentation issues Escalate risks or delays and drive timely resolution Sourcing (Non-BOM Items) Source and procure non‑bill of materials (non-BOM) goods (e.g., consumables, tools, ad hoc requirements) Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers Ensure cost‑effective and timely procurement Procurement Support Assist buyers with order follow‑ups and supplier communication Update ERP system with accurate order and delivery information Ensure all procurement documentation is complete and up to date Continuous Improvement Identify bottlenecks in the supply chain and suggest improvements Support initiatives to improve supplier performance and lead times QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Qualifications Matric (Grade 12) Diploma or Certificate in Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, or similar (advantageous) Experience 2–5 years’ experience in expediting, procurement, or supply chain environment Experience working with ERP systems Exposure to manufacturing or production environments preferred Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and follow‑up ability Proactive and solution‑oriented mindset Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Strong prioritization and multitasking skills Good relationship‑building and teamwork skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
