Knight Piésold South Africa is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our Finance team based in Sandton. You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the financial records and reporting processes for our Madagascar, Mauritius and Botswana entities. This role is suited to a technically strong accounting professional with experience in multi-entity environments, project accounting exposure and a passion for continuous improvement, automation and finance systems optimisation. Key Responsibilities: Manage and maintain the financial records and reporting processes for the Madagascar, Mauritius, and Botswana entities. Prepare monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow forecasts, and financial analyses to support business decision-making. Oversee project accounting activities, including project costing, billing, revenue recognition and profitability analysis across multiple regions. Support month-end and year-end reporting processes while ensuring compliance with IFRS, internal controls and statutory requirements. Review VAT, tax, intercompany transactions and audit requirements to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting. Drive efficiencies within the finance function by identifying opportunities for process improvement, automation and AI-enabled finance solutions. Act as a key support resource for finance systems optimisation and reporting enhancements, including Deltek Vantagepoint and advanced Excel reporting tools. Collaborate closely with project managers, regional teams and stakeholders to provide valuable financial insights and support operational success. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CIMA qualification or studying towards CIMA will be advantageous. Minimum 5 years’ accounting experience. Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting principles. Experience in a multi-entity or group finance environment. Exposure to project accounting and project-based environments. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, Power Query and financial reporting. Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
