Main Purpose of the Job The Business Developer at Skypiom will play an integral role in driving business growth by identifying, engaging, and developing new business opportunities. Initially, the primary focus will be on positioning and promoting Skypiom’s Skills Gap Analysis solution and associated processes. The Business Developer will be responsible for researching prospective clients, developing tailored business proposals, and delivering professional presentations that clearly communicate Skypiom’s value proposition. This role requires a strong understanding of Skypiom’s Skills Gap Analysis functionality and services. Comprehensive training will be provided to equip the Business Developer with a well‑rounded understanding of the solution and broader business offering. To succeed in this role, the BD should be technically minded, self‑motivated, resilient, and confident engaging with business stakeholders. Over the medium to long term, the role will evolve to require a broader understanding of Skypiom’s full suite of solutions and services. To support this transition, the Business Developer will receive ongoing training on the wider Learning Management System and related services. The Business Developer’s goal is to progressively transition into positioning and selling the full LMS suite as quickly and effectively as possible. Position Duties and Responsibilities Identify and generate new business opportunities on an ongoing basis in order to achieve predetermined sales targets, after having successfully undergone training Responsible for making outbound calls on a daily basis to create interest in products and services, mainly Skills Gap Analysis services with the aim of creating new business leads Follow up on incoming leads Build business relationships with current and potential clients Prepare and deliver customer presentations and demonstrations of the software, articulately and confidently Market and promote a portfolio of products by attending industry related events Understand client needs and offer solutions and support; answer potential client questions and follow‑up questions; respond to client requests for quotations (RFQ), information (RFI) and proposals (RFPs) Provide professional and exceptional client service in all interaction with existing and new clients Provide technical advice to customers on Skills Gap Analysis features and services, both pre and post‑sale Advise on software features and how they can be applied to assist in a variety of contexts Develop quotes and proposals Negotiate and renegotiate by phone, email, and in person Assist other departments as and when required Attend all staff meetings and training sessions as and when required Requirements Experience in software, or Software as a Service A very keen interest in B2B sales Previous experience with CRM’s and management software Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills Detail orientated Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team Persuasive and goal‑oriented Advanced computer literacy – this is important!
