Our client, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Officer / Administrator to support the HR function across various projects and operational teams. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring smooth HR administration, maintaining compliance with labour legislation and company procedures, and supporting the employee lifecycle from recruitment through to onboarding and employee support. This role requires a highly organised individual with strong communication skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced project-driven environment, and a passion for people and operational excellence. Education & Qualifications National Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in HR administration or a similar HR support role. Previous experience within construction, engineering, mining, projects, or technical environments will be advantageous. Experience working with multiple sites or project-based teams will be beneficial. Sound understanding of South African labour legislation including BCEA, LRA, EEA and related HR practices. Strong administrative and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and confidentiality. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR systems. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Strong interpersonal skills and professional approach when dealing with employees and management. Key Responsibilities HR Administration Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and personnel files. Ensure all employee documentation is correctly completed, filed, and updated. Assist with employment contracts, onboarding documentation, and HR correspondence. Manage and maintain HR databases and employee information systems. Provide general administrative support to the HR department and operational teams. Recruitment & Onboarding Assist with recruitment processes including job advertisements, screening CVs, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates. Conduct reference checks, qualification verifications, criminal checks, and other pre-employment screening where required. Coordinate onboarding processes for new employees and ensure all onboarding documentation is completed. Facilitate induction and orientation processes for new employees. Employee Support Respond to employee HR-related queries professionally and timeously. Assist with leave administration, employee confirmations, and HR letters. Support employee wellness initiatives and HR programmes. Assist with disciplinary administration, grievance documentation, and employee relations administration. Training & Development Coordinate internal and external training requests. Maintain training records, attendance registers, and certificates. Support skills development and training administration where required. Compliance & Reporting Ensure compliance with company policies and labour legislation. Assist with Employment Equity and BBBEE administrative requirements. Support internal and external audits by preparing and maintaining required documentation. Compile and maintain HR reports, trackers, and monthly HR statistics. General Support project teams with HR-related administrative requirements. Assist with ad hoc HR duties and special projects as required. Contribute towards improving HR processes and administrative efficiencies.
