Job Description To provide day-to-day technical and operational support for server environment for both hardware and software. Work with various departments to meet maintenance services sales goals. Works with customers and/or distributors to receive accurate account of equipment failures and provides reports to management. Key Responsibilities Support and train others to support Ontec systems including monitoring, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair. Help in defining system hardware and software specifications and configurations. Design, implement, upgrade, test and troubleshoot systems and applications at Ontec and customer locations. Define and maintain system standards, reliability and performance requirements for Ontec production operations. Recommend hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades. Administer and train others to administer production systems and applications, and document configurations and procedures. Maintain passwords, data integrity and file system security for the server environment. Work with internal and external customers, vendors and other support technicians to determine and implement adjustments to achieve optimum system performance. Document, report, and track problems to appropriate vendors or departments. Requirements Tertiary Engineering Qualification or equivalent (advantageous) Minimum 2 years technical industry experience (advantageous) Basic knowledge of meters and IoT devices and systems (advantageous) Proficiency in English, Xhosa and/or Zulu (written and verbal) advantageous The use of appropriate business language when communicating with customers Must have good analytical skills Skilled in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Ontec has a diverse team made up of innovative and competent individuals.
