About the Role You will play a key role in supporting a portfolio of clients by maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end processes, and preparing accounts up to trial balance. This role is well suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced accounting practice, enjoys working across multiple clients, and takes pride in delivering accurate work within deadlines. Key Responsibilities Perform bank and credit card reconciliations Process accounts payable and receivable Capture and maintain supplier and customer invoices Maintain accurate general ledger records Prepare accounts up to trial balance Assist with month-end and year-end processes Manage multiple client deadlines simultaneously Support VAT reconciliations and submissions Assist with tax-related tasks (including individual tax returns and SARS queries) Assist with payroll processing where required Maintain organised and compliant client records Proactively follow up on outstanding information Ensure accuracy and timely delivery of all work Requirements Qualification in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related field Previous experience within an accounting practice environment Strong working knowledge of Xero QuickBooks Online Experience with Bank reconciliations Accounts payable and receivable Trial balance preparation Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines Basic understanding of South African tax (VAT, income tax, provisional tax) advantageous Strong attention to detail and organisational skills Clear written and verbal communication skills Who You Are Highly organised and accountable Self-motivated and able to work independently Comfortable working across multiple clients Able to meet strict deadlines in a practice environment Open to feedback and able to apply it constructively Professional, emotionally mature, and client-focused Proactive communicator who keeps stakeholders informed Additional Information On-site role preferred in Hermanus / Onrus area Hybrid/remote considered for candidates based in the Western Cape Reliable internet connection required for remote work Experience with cloud-based accounting systems essential Must be comfortable handling confidential financial information Why This Role?
