Description We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety, Health and Environmental Officer to support project teams in maintaining a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible work environment within an industrial setting. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety legislation, promoting safe work practices, and supporting project execution across multiple sites. Key Responsibilities Ensure compliance with all applicable Occupational Health and Safety legislation and site safety standards Support the implementation and maintenance of Safety, Health and Environmental systems and procedures Maintain a safe working environment across project sites Identify workplace hazards and ensure risks are communicated effectively to employees and contractors Capture and manage contractor man-hours and compile required safety reports Conduct incident investigations with line management, identify root causes, and recommend corrective and preventative actions Maintain project safety boards and relevant site documentation Support the safe execution of capital projects and safe work practices on site Assist with environmental compliance initiatives and monitoring programmes Review and audit contractor risk assessments and method statements before permits to work are issued Facilitate contractor safety meetings and daily site safety briefings Work overtime and weekends when required to support project activities Minimum Requirements National Diploma in Safety Management or relevant qualification (SAMTRAC advantageous) Sound knowledge of industrial safety regulations and compliance requirements Ability to identify operational and safety non-conformances 2–3 years’ experience in a Safety Officer or similar role Experience within an industrial, manufacturing, or FMCG environment Strong presentation, reporting, and problem-solving skills Ability to coach, guide, and train teams on safety standards and practices Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage across all levels of the organisation Package & Remuneration Market Related About Us Elevating Businesses with Premier People Solutions Rosstone is a leading expert in Workforce Management, Contracting solutions and Knowledge Resource Management services.
