Clinical Assessment Scientist - COA Lead - Sponsor-dedicated (Sweden, Spain, UK, South Africa, Portugal, Denmark) Role Summary The COA Lead is responsible for defining and executing Clinical Outcome Assessment (COA) endpoint strategies for clinical programs, assets, or indications. The role evolves with experience, increasing in scope, strategic impact, and exposure across therapeutic areas. Key Responsibilities Define and implement patient‑centric COA endpoint strategies aligned with innovative product development Develop deep understanding of disease areas and treatment paradigms through primary and secondary research Advise on selection, development, and validation of fit‑for‑purpose COA instruments (gap analyses, implementation, psychometric validation, statistical analyses) Manage qualitative and quantitative research projects, including vendor oversight and budget control Contribute to medical evidence generation plans and ensure effective COA implementation during clinical execution Prepare scientific documentation (reports, publications, regulatory materials) Collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure alignment of COA strategies and deliverables Senior‑Level Responsibilities (if applicable) Provide strategic leadership and subject‑matter expertise in COA methodologies Define therapeutic‑area COA frameworks and endpoint strategies Mentor and coach less experienced COA scientists Ensure scientific quality and consistency of COA activities and deliverables Lead innovative and cross‑functional initiatives related to COA strategy Candidate Profile Strong experience in COA, clinical research, or patient‑centered outcomes Expertise in qualitative and/or quantitative research methodologies Strategic mindset with the ability to manage complex projects end‑to‑end Experience working with external vendors and cross‑functional stakeholders Required Experience & Knowledge Relevant experience in Clinical Outcome Assessments (COA) within pharma, CRO, or consultancy environments Proven track record in COA‑related activities such as data analysis, development or validation of COA instruments, and endpoint strategy implementation Solid understanding of the drug development lifecycle, including regulatory and payer environments Education & Training Advanced academic degree (Master’s or PhD) in a relevant field (e.g., psychology, public health, epidemiology, psychometrics, clinical research, medicine, pharmacy, biostatistics or related disciplines) Formal training in COA methodologies Core Skills Strong analytical and synthesis skills across qualitative and quantitative data Scientific rigor with high attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and projects autonomously Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience working effectively with internal and external stakeholders Proactive, hands‑on mindset with an interest in innovation and change Languages Professional fluency in English (written and spoken) Benefits We are passionate about developing our people, through career development and progression; supportive and engaged line management; technical and therapeutic area training; peer recognition and total rewards program.
