Job Summary Our client is looking for a candidate for a 12‑month engagement to serve as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) in your technical domain, providing solutions and advice to business across multiple complex problem sets, working with vendors to improve IT technical domain solutions, and supporting junior staff. Responsibilities Serve as technical lead, primarily for developing and deploying business process and web services within the IBM Sterling Integrator. Work with internal and external business teams to define, design, code, test, implement, and maintain all aspects of electronic documents to suit business needs, particularly new business opportunities or new documents that partners request. Lead large migration, integration, and consolidation efforts of file transfer platforms. Act as a subject matter expert for B2Bi, Connect Direct, and MQFTE platforms. Install and configure B2Bi, Connect Direct, and MQFTE agent software on Windows, Linux, AIX, mainframe, and Solaris operating systems. Build or maintain business processes within IBM Sterling B2B Integrator. Provide setup and support for file communication using standard internet protocols (FTP, SFTP, and HTTP(s)). Utilize Unix and Windows scripting capabilities. Provide on‑call support as required to meet business needs. Coordinate with enterprise design, application, and infrastructure architects regarding automation, file transfer, and batch scheduling technologies. Oversee continuous process improvement of ongoing system inspection procedures. Oversee incident troubleshooting and analysis. Conduct ongoing oversight and quality review of incident resolution, identifying areas where a predefined response is appropriate. Develop and document standardized troubleshooting techniques used to analyze system incidents. Enforce standards with respect to automation, file transfer, and batch scheduling technologies. Interface independently with internal and external business partners to plan, coordinate, test, and implement new automation and/or file transfer operations. Work with production support teams to define and document workarounds to known errors. Conduct ongoing oversight and quality review of the execution of system functionality verification procedures. Preferred Qualifications and Experience BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent field. Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in EDI Technical Administration and Operations support. Experience with implementation, operation, and performance management of Enterprise EDI B2B systems. Experience with Sterling B2B Integrator and associated file transfer products and protocols. Financial services experience preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to collaborate with production support teams to identify and design continuous improvements to system functionality verification procedures. Experience working with information security to identify and coordinate security requirements for the application lifecycle. Prior Java development experience is preferred.
