Key Responsibilities Operational Management Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily mining activities (drilling, blasting, hauling, and processing). Ensure production targets are met in line with company objectives. Monitor operational performance and implement improvements where necessary. Health & Safety Compliance Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations and company policies. Promote a safety-first culture across all teams. Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions. Team Leadership & Development Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary workforce. Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development. Ensure adequate staffing and training levels. Financial & Resource Management Develop and manage budgets, controlling operational costs. Optimize resource allocation (labor, equipment, materials). Prepare reports on production, costs, and operational efficiency. Regulatory & Environmental Compliance Ensure compliance with mining laws, permits, and environmental standards. Liaise with regulatory authorities and stakeholders. Oversee environmental management plans and rehabilitation activities. Equipment & Maintenance Oversight Ensure proper maintenance and availability of mining equipment. Coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime. Evaluate and recommend new technologies or equipment upgrades. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred). Valid Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency (as per local regulations). Minimum 8–10 years of mining experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role. Strong knowledge of mining methods, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
