Inventory Controller – 5-Star Boutique Hotel & Restaurant – Cape Town Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a meticulous and systems-driven Inventory Controller for a celebrated 5‑star boutique hotel situated in the Gardens area of Cape Town, forming part of a highly regarded South African hospitality group. The role is senior and detail‑intensive, overseeing all stock‑holding departments across the property, including beverage, food, spa retail, galleries, housekeeping amenities, and operational equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy at property level, ensuring all data is complete, audit‑ready, and aligned with group standards. Candidates currently based in Cape Town will receive strong preference. Minimum Requirements Relevant qualification in Finance, Accounting, Hospitality Management, or a related field advantageous Minimum of 2–4 years’ experience in hospitality inventory or multi‑department stock management within a luxury hotel environment Previous luxury hospitality experience essential Hands‑on experience with MyStock, MyInventory, Sage Inventory, or similar systems Strong understanding of hospitality operations across Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Spa, and Retail Experience working with POS systems such as TallOrder or similar Strong analytical and numerical ability with excellent attention to detail Ability to supervise and direct Storeman and Administrator functions Excellent communication and cross‑departmental collaboration skills Stable work history with contactable references Key Responsibilities Inventory Governance & Controls Oversee all daily stock movements across all departments and ensure full SOP compliance Verify all transactions including Purchase Orders, GRNs, transfers, wastage, credits, and issues Reject and correct inaccuracies before daily cut‑off Maintain accurate item master data, unit of measure, cost, and VAT categorisation Reconciliation & Reporting Reconcile POS sales against inventory depletion across bar, spa retail, and gallery operations Investigate all consumption discrepancies on the same day Lead mid‑month and month‑end stock counts, ensuring blind counts for high‑risk areas Compile month‑end reporting packs including opening and closing balances, purchases, issues, transfers, wastage, and variance reports Purchasing & Receiving Validate purchasing requests against departmental budgets, PAR levels, and ROP settings Oversee GRN accuracy and three‑way matching between Purchase Orders, delivery notes, and invoices Confirm all supplier credits are correctly raised and reconciled Risk, Compliance & Audit Maintain full separation of duties across request, capture, approval, and issue functions Keep complete digital document trails across all inventory transactions Enforce physical controls including locked storage, key registers, and access control Support internal and external audits with accurate and complete records Package Market‑related salary (details shared with shortlisted candidates) Live‑out position #J-18808-Ljbffr
