Associate Director │ Low Carbon Tech & Fuels │ We’re hiring Operations Manager - BESS A leading provider of renewable and hybrid energy solutions is looking for a Regional Service Manager to oversee service operations across Africa. This role will take ownership of the performance and reliability of hybrid solar and battery storage systems, while building a capable local team and ensuring excellent customer support. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone with strong technical expertise and experience managing field operations, with the chance to shape a new regional service organization from the ground up. What You’ll Do Service Leadership & Operations Set up and lead the regional service function in Johannesburg. Coordinate maintenance and troubleshooting for hybrid PV‑battery systems across multiple sites. Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance meets high technical standards. Support commissioning, warranty interventions, and complex troubleshooting in collaboration with global engineering teams. Develop partnerships with local service providers and technicians to strengthen regional capabilities. Serve as the main technical contact for customers in the region. Monitor service agreements, KPIs, and response times to meet contractual obligations. Oversee spare parts supply, approvals, and quotations. Provide guidance and elevate urgent issues to international support teams. Processes & Quality Implement standardised service processes, reporting systems, and technical documentation. Track performance metrics, identify trends, and recommend improvements. Conduct on‑site audits and deliver training for customer operations teams. Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations. About You Skills & Experience Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Renewable Energy, or related field. 5+ years in O&M, commissioning, or service of PV, hybrid, or energy storage systems. Proven experience leading field teams and coordinating multi‑site operations. Strong knowledge of power electronics, inverters, PCS, SCADA/EMS, and industrial control systems.
