Role Purpose The Support Resource Officer (Dispatcher) is responsible for coordinating emergency response vehicles using a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system to ensure timely assistance to incidents. The role also involves assisting in receiving, logging, and prioritising both emergency and non‑emergency calls, while determining the appropriate response and level of care required. Key Responsibilities Dispatch emergency vehicles in accordance with CAD system protocols. Receive, prioritise, and log incoming emergency and non‑emergency calls. Process and coordinate incident alerts efficiently. Support the contact centre with general administrative tasks. Ensure accurate data capturing and communication during high‑pressure situations. Essential Requirements Grade 12 (Matric). Exposure to a Contact Centre or Emergency Contact Centre environment. Advantageous Requirements BAA / Level 3 First Aid Certification. 1‑3 years' experience in dispatching within an EMS contact centre. Skills & Competencies Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office). Knowledge of dispatch systems and vehicle coordination. Understanding of emergency care environments. Excellent typing skills and attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication in English. Knowledge of geographical locations. Professional telephonic and email etiquette. Ability to perform under pressure in time‑critical situations.
