Minimum Requirements (non-negotiable): Based in Cape Town 68+ years experience in the building/construction industry Proven team/department management experience Qualification: Degree / National Diploma / BTech in Construction Management, Construction Studies, Civil Engineering, or Quantity Surveying ECSA / professional registration advantageous Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic and operational leadership to the department Lead multiple complex projects from feasibility through to completion Review and sign off on technical designs, contracts, and documentation (JBCC, FIDIC, NEC, GCC) Manage project delivery in terms of scope, budget, timelines, and quality Build and maintain client, stakeholder, and regulatory relationships Drive business development, including identifying opportunities, preparing bids, and securing new work Oversee departmental budgets, forecasting, and financial performance Recruit, mentor, and manage a multi-disciplinary team, including performance management and development Ensure quality assurance, compliance, and audit readiness across all projects Manage contractual risk, sub-consultants, and service level agreements Collaborate across departments to improve operational efficiency and project outcomes
