Application Procedure: Apply Online Pay Rate: $16.05 - $29.50 depending on education/experience General Information Evaluation: Evaluated by Transition Coordinator Length of Contract: 9 Months Salary: Based on Education and Experience as outlined in CBA Job Summary Education Support Personnel, commonly referred to as Paraprofessionals, provide support that involves working with other people, employees and/or students, and working in a supportive role to a teacher or administrator. Paraprofessionals assigned to the Life Skills Academy & Transition Services commonly perform duties including, but not limited to those below. Qualifications Illinois Educator License with Stipulations issued by ISBE endorsed as a Paraprofessional Knowledge of basic office equipment and/or programs such as: personal computer, email, Google Docs, copy machine, document shredder, etc. Ability to work independently and use good judgement. Excellent interpersonal skills with a variety of people; students, staff, parents, community stakeholders. Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with FERPA regulations. IL Licensed driver, with a clean driving record for the past three years. Major Duties & Performance Responsibilities Serve as a positive role model to students in community and instructional settings. Provide 1:1 instruction/small group instruction in both classroom & community vocational settings. Communicate with employers regularly. Advise Transition Coordinator of possible developments or concerns. Evaluate student progress and record data. Implement medical or behavior plans specific to student needs as necessary. Work flexibly with students of varying abilities. Recognize opportunities to fade support when applicable. Provide input into job development and additional/alternative job duties for students. Attend team meetings when applicable. Demonstrate professional work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills. Promote a positive image of District 117. Assist with required paperwork including but not limited to: DRS forms, transportation notices, student data, and classroom correspondence. Travel to community work sites in personal vehicles with mileage reimbursement available. All District 117 positions are subject to other duties as assigned. #J-18808-Ljbffr
