We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented "Payment Query Management Team Leader" to join our Finance team in Johannesburg North. This role is responsible for overseeing payment processes, managing queries, ensuring compliance with financial controls, and leading the Payment Queries (i.e., Accounts Payable) team to deliver accurate and timely results.Duties & Key Responsibilities: Manage invoice processing and VIM approvals (Level 1 and ad hoc Level 2)Resolve invoice and payment related queries across multiple company codesReview and monitor VIM approval and reporting metricsPerform age analysis, reconciliations, and clearing activitiesReview and approve accruals in line with month-end requirementsOversee payment schedules, including foreign payments, ensuring accuracy and completenessManage Payment Queries (Accounts Payable) mailboxes and respond to stakeholder queriesAct as primary liaison for vendor onboarding and master data updatesMaintain key finance tracking spreadsheets and provide operational supportProcess intercompany invoices and review ERP batch postingsLead, coach, and support Payment Queries (Accounts Payable) teamAllocate workload, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to controlsAct as first point of escalation for complex queries Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience: Matric (required)Degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting, or related field35 years experience in Accounts Payable or Finance OperationsExperience working with SAP VIM or similar ERP systemsStrong proficiency in ExcelCompetent in using digital platforms and systems effectively to perform tasksProven ability to work in a fast paced and results driven environment Skills and Competencies: High level of accuracy with a strong focus on controlsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to effectively prioritise and manage multiple competing demandsStrong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making capabilitiesResilient, organised, reliable, and able to remain composed under pressure
