To ensure and ambassador customs compliance and maintain the company’s accredited status when performing responsibilities and interacting with suppliers, clients and SARS, and to ensure that the correct procedures are followed to achieve operating efficiencies within the department in support to the import and export departments and the company’s obligation to offering a service to its clients. Ensure that Quality Control, Guidance, Training and assistance is provided. Always act within the interest of the organisation. Key Performance Areas Customer requirements are met and exceeded. Quality Checking of all bills of entries for submission via EDI and monitoring for final response from Customs. Responsible for the verification, accuracy and overall quality of 100% of entries framed including but not limited to forwarding-related information prior to submission to Customs. Assist with entry-framing should there be an operational need. Tariffing and other OGA regulatory requirements for internal & external stakeholders Assigning of entries to entry clerks to ensure an even spread of the workload and monitoring the two-hour turnaround times of entries from time of assigning to time of approval. Continuously monitoring the dashboard to ensure declarations are processed on a timely basis across the various segments of the dashboard. Manage & Maintain the Entry clerk error rate folder on shared drive. Correctly classify commodities shown on supplier’s invoice using either the parts library, Commercial Invoice descriptions or Tariff book. Comply with Customs (Legislative) requirements by ensuring all permits, rebates, certificates, etc are available, on record and timeously obtained from customers in advance of the clearance of the shipment. Ensure all documentation necessary for capturing Bills of Entry including Clearing Instruction, Suppliers Commercial Invoice(s), Packing List(s), Bill of Lading / MAWB / HAWB, etc is obtained and loaded on eDocs. Ensure a valid and accurate bill of entry is produced for submission via EDI and quality assure files to ensure the accuracy and completeness of documents necessary for the capturing of the Bill of Entry Ensure all queries are resolved timeously with internal and external stakeholders. All issues must be escalated to superiors as soon as is identified Knowledge of all modes of transport is essential. Ability to apply for Permits/LOA/Refunds/Drawbacks and importers/Exporter applications. Attending to all stops and detentions, being present at inspections when required. Customer commitments are met and exceeded. Reduction in errors relating to Refunds and Write-offs. Manage and maintain the turnaround times of entries from receipt to completion. Ensuring queries and stopped shipments are addressed with urgency. Profitability of company and all stakeholders High standard of service Qualifications Required Matric NCFF (NQF ¾), FIATA Diploma advantageous Logistics or similar degree/diploma advantageous . SDS or Higher certificate in Freight Forwarding and Customs Compliance Experience and Skills Required Minimum 3 - 5 Years’ Experience in a senior role within a customs affair's environment Exceptional Communication Skills Submission of All Customs Applications.
