Host / Duty Manager Location: Ballito – Luxury 5‑Star Hotel Salary: R11,000 per month (Live‑out, Market Related) Benefits: Medical Aid & Provident Fund Contributions Role Overview: A highly guest‑facing, hands‑on role responsible for ensuring a seamless guest journey, supporting daily hotel operations, and maintaining exceptional service standards across all departments during the shift. Key Responsibilities Guest Experience & Hosting – Take full ownership of in‑house guest experience during shift; welcome and engage guests, anticipate needs, deliver proactive service, manage special occasions, handle concerns and service recovery, maintain a visible and consistent hosting presence throughout the hotel. Operational Oversight – Oversee Front Office, F&B, Housekeeping, and Spa during shift; ensure smooth operational flow during peak periods; support and guide team members on the floor; step in operationally where required; coordinate effectively across all departments. Service Standards & Attention to Detail – Uphold luxury service standards; monitor room presentation, public areas, guest spaces; maintain ambiance (lighting, cleanliness, music, setup, etc.); conduct regular property walkthroughs during shift. Team Leadership & Support – Lead by example; support and guide junior team members; assist with training and on‑the‑floor development; ensure clear communication between departments. Administrative & Systems (Secondary Focus) – Assist with front office systems and POS; support daily reporting and shift handovers; assist with night audit and end‑of‑day procedures when scheduled; maintain guest preference and feedback records. Health, Safety & Compliance – Ensure safe, clean, and compliant working environment; follow all operational policies; prioritise guest and staff safety.
