A leading client in the Printing and Manufacturing sector is currently seeking to employ an experienced and reliable Guillotine Operator (Print & Finishing) to join their dynamic production team based in Durban on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating guillotine machinery and assisting with various print finishing processes to ensure all production work is completed accurately, efficiently, and according to high-quality standards. The ideal applicant must have previous experience within a print or manufacturing environment and be able to work effectively in a fast‑paced production setting. Key Duties and Responsibilities Operate guillotine cutting machinery to cut printed materials according to job specifications and measurements Ensure all cutting work is completed accurately, neatly, and within production deadlines Perform routine maintenance checks and ensure guillotine equipment is functioning correctly and safely Assist with binding processes including quarter binding and stitching Carry out hand finishing and print finishing tasks according to production requirements Inspect completed work for quality assurance and ensure finished products meet company standards Minimise material wastage by ensuring precise cutting and handling of printed materials Read and interpret job cards, measurements, and production instructions accurately Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times Work closely with the production and finishing teams to ensure workflow efficiency and targets are met Follow workplace health and safety procedures when operating machinery and handling materials Assist with packing and preparation of completed print jobs when required. Proven experience working as a Guillotine Operator within a printing, packaging or manufacturing environment Practical experience in: Binding Quarter Binding Stitching Sound knowledge and practical experience in hand finishing processes Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Good understanding of workplace safety procedures and machinery operation Ability to work under pressure and meet strict production deadline.
