Key Responsibilities Provide overall leadership and management of the mining operation Act as the 2.6.1 Appointee in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act Ensure compliance with MHSA, Minerals Act, and other relevant legislation Oversee mine production, safety, engineering, and operational performance Manage budgets, production targets, and cost controls Lead and develop operational and technical teams Ensure proper implementation of mine planning and production schedules Maintain strong relationships with regulators, contractors, and stakeholders Promote and enforce a strong safety culture Statutory Responsibilities The successful candidate will be required to hold the following appointments: 2.6.1 – General Manager 3.1 – Mine Manager 2.13.1 – Responsible person for Mechanical Equipment 2.13.3 – Responsible person for Electrical Equipment Minimum Requirements Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency (Metalliferous Mines) Minimum 10 years mining experience At least 5 years in senior management within opencast mining Strong knowledge of MHSA and statutory requirements #J-18808-Ljbffr
