The business supplies large-scale infrastructure and specialised industrial products across South Africa and international markets. This is a high-impact opportunity for a commercially minded Cost Accountant to take ownership of costing, inventory, and procurement alignment within a dynamic production environment. Role Overview This is a hands‑on operational finance role sitting at the intersection of finance, supply chain, and production . The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring accurate costing, efficient inventory management, and improved working capital performance as the business scales. This is not a purely reporting‑based accounting role — it requires a proactive individual who can influence operational decisions and improve cost efficiency across the business. Key Responsibilities Take full ownership of inventory control, valuation, and reconciliations Develop and maintain accurate product costing models Analyse gross profit per product line and identify cost drivers Align procurement with demand planning and production requirements Monitor and improve stock turns and working capital efficiency Support production and operations with accurate costing data Drive improvements in costing, inventory, and planning processes Assist in ERP system optimisation and reporting enhancements Support financial reporting, month‑end, and audit requirements Collaborate with procurement, production, and finance teams Key Focus Areas Inventory & Cost Control Stock valuation and reconciliation Costing accuracy and margin analysis Reduction of waste and inefficiencies Supply Chain & Procurement Demand planning and stock forecasting Procurement alignment with production needs Optimisation of inventory levels and lead times Operational Finance Working capital optimisation Cost analysis and reporting Support for production efficiency and profitability Minimum Requirements Degree in Accounting, Cost & Management Accounting, or similar 3–7 years’ experience in cost accounting, inventory, or operational finance Manufacturing, production, or industrial environment experience preferred Strong understanding of stock control and supply chain processes Experience with ERP systems (advantageous) Strong analytical and numerical ability High attention to detail and process discipline Ability to work in a fast‑paced, growing environment Advantageous CIMA / SAIPA / SAICA registration or progress Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or industrial production Exposure to ERP systems (e.g. Business Central, SAP, or similar) Experience in import‑driven or high‑volume stock environments Why This Role?
