How you'll role As the Operations, Logistics & Safety Manager, you will oversee and support commercial fishing operations while coordinating the logistical and safety elements of cargo and passenger services to Tristan da Cunha. This role requires you to act as a pivotal connection between stakeholders, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and optimizing operational effectiveness through strategic planning and performance monitoring. You will engage closely with the management team and service providers to implement and refine systems that boost productivity and safety standards. What you'll do Oversee daily operations and logistics planning for fishing and maritime transport Ensure compliance with maritime safety through the Safety Management System (ISM) Coordinate vessel administration and operational scheduling Act as the central point of coordination between vessels, shore operations, and contractors Develop and implement systems and procedures for operational improvements Monitor and control operational performance and logistics efficiency Support maintenance planning in coordination with the Superintendent Engineer Assist with procurement and forwarding activities as required What you'll need At least 5 years of experience in commercial fishing and maritime operations. Formal training and practical knowledge of HACCP Comprehensive knowledge of Safety Management Systems (ISM) Proficiency in MS Office and digital systems Strong organisational and documentation skills Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Familiarity with the Port of Cape Town and nearby operational areas Ability to work effectively in a systems‑driven environment #J-18808-Ljbffr
