Overview Job Type: Zero Hour Contract, Night shifts required We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to support a client. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in facilitating the client’s professional success by attending meetings, taking accurate and comprehensive electronic notes as well as supporting their movement around campus. This is a part-time position with an average of 10 hours per week depending on work (e.g. studio sessions, weekend events, filming, occasional night shoots) Shifts would always start and end at home/accommodation. This would include lifting a foldable electric wheelchair into a taxi (17.3kg with batteries, or 14.5kg with batteries removed). When travelling outside London, supporting with luggage and getting me to passenger assistance at stations. Providing wheelchair assistance and navigation support as needed. Support Requirements (removing barriers and enabling productivity) Travel support, navigation, and carrying bags/equipment Wheelchair assistance and general mobility support Ensuring access requirements are met (including appropriate spaces, breaks, and sustainable scheduling) Communicating access needs to teams (e.g. directors, production, sound engineers, studio staff, crew) in line with my guidance Advocacy for reasonable adjustments in rehearsals, meetings, and on set Supporting pacing and rest (including handling coffee/lunch runs to enable longer breaks) Supporting in high-Pressure environments with reassurance and practical strategies This includes remaining calm and following a trained seizure management plan when required (training provided) Assisting with self-regulation and grounding techniques Anticipating needs and providing proactive support Reducing miscommunication and managing changes where possible Supporting with time management, scheduling, and transitions Script reading, note-taking, and processing information Supporting with self-tapes (learning lines, equipment setup, environment, and creative assistance) Facilitating physical access to venues, sets, and events Prompting for medication, food, hydration, meetings, calls… Client Role Assessing grant applications for the Film & TV Charity Voiceover work (video games, audiobooks, corporate and commercial), including regular fast-turnaround voice demos. This takes place in my home studio, studios across London, and occasionally across the UK (e.g. Games Workshop in Nottingham) Acting (film & TV): on‑set work across the UK and occasionally internationally; self‑tapes; in‑person auditions; read‑throughs; fittings; learning lines; screenings. I use specific mobility strategies such as mirroring, distraction, and refocusing with my PA to enable walking unaided when required Access Coordination: tech recces across the UK; accessibility audits; 1:1s with cast and crew; on‑set access support; production meetings; liaising with teams; coordinating access for read‑throughs/table reads, ADR/post‑production, wrap events, and screenings Writing: meetings, deadlines, research and development, screenings, and networking events Access Consultancy: work with organisations such as Virgin Atlantic, Fun Palaces, the TV Access Project (TAP), and FormidAbility (opera company), including rehearsals, meetings, events, and site visits (e.g. airports) across the UK Ideal Support Worker Profile Quick learner with strong attention to detail Highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently Adaptable, proactive, and confident using initiative Comfortable working with ambiguity and can take the lead Flexible availability (including weekends, evenings, and night shoots) Confident delivering emotional regulation/grounding techniques (e.g. mindfulness, guided calming strategies) to prevent and de‑escalate overwhelm Proven experience in care or similarly high-responsibility 1:1 roles Comfortable navigating gendered environments and able to assist in women’s changing rooms/toilets (I am a non-binary woman) Entertainment industry experience preferred; a strong interest in film/TV is beneficial Comfortable with irregular hours and varied working environments Thrives in fast-pace settings while remaining proactive during quieter periods Open-mind and respectful of all identities, cultures, and backgrounds Reliable and consistent Unfazed working with and around high-profile individuals Please note that training and shadowing will be provided. #J-18808-Ljbffr
