ABOUT THIS ROLE Are you a highly organised and detail-oriented production planning professional with experience in a manufacturing environment? A well-established manufacturing operation based in Dube Tradeport is seeking a Factory Planner to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced production environment, enjoys problem-solving, and has strong planning and coordination abilities. You will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of production operations by coordinating manufacturing schedules, managing resource planning, monitoring production performance, and working closely with multiple departments to meet operational targets. WHAT YOU WILL DO Plan and coordinate production schedules to ensure efficient manufacturing operations Maintain knowledge of products, manufacturing processes, tools, and operational requirements Ensure optimal job sequencing while managing machine, mould, and staffing constraints Monitor Work in Progress (WIP) and minimise variances and production delays Manage Material Resource Planning (MRP) for raw materials and masterbatch requirements Identify production risks and proactively resolve issues to minimise back orders and delays Work closely with Sales, Engineering, Quality, Stores, and Operations teams to resolve planning and production challenges Monitor production jobs daily to ensure completion within budget, timelines, and quality standards Prepare and submit production status and performance reports Maintain organised and accurate documentation and paperwork Continuously identify opportunities to improve production efficiency and reduce costs Participate in stock takes and operational planning activities Utilise ERP systems and company software as required Ensure compliance with company systems, procedures, and operational standards Support operational requirements, including occasional weekend work where required WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Matric qualification with Mathematics essential Diploma qualification advantageous Previous production planning experience within a manufacturing environment preferred Experience with Material Resource Planning (MRP) advantageous ERP software experience essential, with Syspro experience preferred Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills Highly organised with strong planning and coordination abilities Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to prioritise effectively and manage changing production demands High attention to detail and accuracy Confident decision-making ability within a fast-paced environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills Team player with the ability to work collaboratively across departments Ability to work under pressure and adapt when required Strong commitment to systems, procedures, and operational excellence Clear criminal and credit record required Own transport essential If you are looking to grow your career within a high-quality manufacturing environment where planning and operational excellence are highly valued, we’d love to hear from you.
