Job Description Reporting to the Director IT Operations, you will play a key role within the ICT Operations team, leading the day-to-day operational delivery for ADF Careers. You will be overseeing and coordinating core operational functions across Infrastructure (including Cloud, Networks and Security Operations) as well as L1/L2 support and IT Service Management (Service Desk, Field Support and Service Enablement). Key Responsibilities Proven experience managing enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud platforms, operations systems, and end to end-user computing environments Strong capability in overseeing day-to-day IT operations, ensuring high availability of systems, effective incident/problem management, and adherence to SLAs Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and developing IT operations staff, including workload prioritisation, performance management, and on-call/roster management Solid understanding of security best practices, access controls, backup and disaster recovery, and compliance with relevant standards or frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, ITIL) Experience managing third-party vendors and service providers, while effectively communicating with internal stakeholders to align IT services with business needs Ability to analyse operational performance, implement process improvements, manage change, and contribute to IT strategy, capacity planning, and cost optimisation. Your background will demonstrate: Minimum 3 years’ experience leading IT operations in a production environment, with direct responsibility for system availability, reliability, and support services. Demonstrated experience as an ICT Operational Leader in the Defence Industry space is desirable Demonstrated hands‑on experience leading incident response, root cause analysis, and controlled change implementation in line with ITIL or equivalent frameworks Solid working knowledge of enterprise infrastructure including networks, servers (on‑prem and/or cloud), operating systems, and end-user environments Demonstrated experience managing IT staff, including task prioritisation, performance oversight, escalation management, and coordination of after‑hours support where required Proven experience implementing and maintaining cybersecurity controls, backup and disaster recovery processes, and operational risk mitigation measures To apply for this position, you must be an Australian citizen and have the ability to maintain an Australian AGSVA security clearance.
