Own the full month-end process and translate financial data into actionable commercial insights Role Overview A South African deep-tech company that builds and scales global businesses is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their Stellenbosch team. Using proprietary tracking technology, the business transforms traditional sports and leisure venues into high-tech, data-driven entertainment experiences for users worldwide. Reporting directly to the Junior Financial Manager, you will take full ownership of the month-end close process up to the trial balance across multiple international entities. This is a highly commercial role where you will establish reliable management accounts, optimise cash flow, and translate financial data into actionable insights that drive how the business is run. Key Responsibilities Manage the full month-end close process across multiple entities, including journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and trial balance preparation. Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring accurate reconciliation to the general ledger. Monitor creditor ageing and provide payment forecasting to support commercial cash flow decisions and optimise supplier terms. Prepare comprehensive audit files, maintain working papers, and manage the external audit engagement. Review supplier invoice capture, coding, and reconciliations completed by the outsourced accounting provider. Prepare payroll reconciliations, validate departmental cost allocations, and oversee statutory payroll submissions. Qualifications & Experience Completed SAIPA, SAICA, or CIMA articles. Commercial experience beneficial. Proven experience taking full ownership of the month-end close up to trial balance across multiple entities.
