This is a consultancy role providing support to the teams that will complete the modelling for the data products that they are building and supporting. It will primarily focus on the Product Teams - helping to up skill the teams. It requires someone with strong technical and analytical skills to guide data discovery, provide advice on core data requirements and advice on dimensional modelling - someone who has had hands-on experience of building data products previously. The ideal Consultant: Technical BA with strong communication skills Good understanding of 3NF (entity relationship) models, fact and dimensional modelling, source systems analysis and building conform structure Ability to work alongside a cross functional Product Team and analyse their modelling requirements for the design of data products within their remit A Data Modeller who typically focuses on designing and maintaining database structures to ensure efficient data organization, storage, and retrieval. They work with various stakeholders, including data architects, database administrators, and business analysts, to translate business needs into effective data solutions. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement data models: Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models that meet organisational needs. Collaborate with stakeholders: Gather and analyze data requirements from business analysts and other stakeholders. Ensure data integrity: Maintain data accuracy, consistency, and security within databases. Optimize database performance: Improve database efficiency and speed through model design and tuning. Document and communicate: Document data models and their specifications, and communicate them effectively to other team members. Stay current with industry trends: Keep up-to-date on emerging technologies and best practices in data modeling. Required Skills and Knowledge: Database Technologies: Knowledge of relational databases (SQL), NoSQL databases, and other database technologies. Data Modeling Tools: Proficiency in using data modeling software and tools. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand data requirements and design effective solutions. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams. Domain Knowledge: Understanding of the business domain and the types of data used within the organisation. Data Governance: Familiarity with data governance principles and practices. Bridge between business needs and technical implementation of data solutions to create the blueprint for how data is organised, stored, and used within an organisation.
