Responsibilities Developing and executing category strategies Establishing & maintaining strategic supplier relationships (incl. supplier performance management) Strategic negotiations with suppliers Gathering market intelligence by scanning the external environment to keep abreast of new industry approaches & market developments in order to enhance category strategies Ensuring governance excellence in the category management environment (incl. the establishment and ongoing management of supply agreements/contracts) Central Procurement, Assortment Optimisation and Strategic Pricing Category ownership of the Online Store and the E-catalogue Central and Online Promotions Requirements The ideal candidate must have a B-degree or equivalent qualification At least 8-10 years of senior management experience in a procurement / retail environment A thorough understanding of the dynamics of the retail sector in South Africa The ideal candidate must be willing to travel when necessary and to work long hours during peak times.
