INTERNAL VACANCY – HEAT TREATMENT OPERATOR The company is looking for competent and motivated employees to work in the Machine Shop. The Heat Treatment Operator reports to the Machine Shop Supervisor. Key Performance Areas Continuous adherence to the OH&S Act and Regulations and the relevant ISO Standards / SANS codes. Stacking heights must be followed according to the work instructions. Set up solution and precipitation treatment process operating parameters and maintain the process. Load off load wheels into heat treatment or ageing facility. Maintain housekeeping in the area. Meeting production targets. Identify problems on castings and stamp wheels. To drive forklift when loading and off-loading wheels. Pack wheels onto wooden pallets when suitable baskets are not available and during breakdowns. Adhere to health and safety requirements as well as quality requirements for the department. Qualifications Grade 12 including mathematics and science as subjects or equivalent standard of numeracy and literacy subject to RPL assessment. N Subjects or tertiary qualification would be advantageous. Forklift License is required. Work Experience Physically able to meet requirements of position. 2 years work experience in a wheel making plant would be advantageous. Other Requirements Excellent attendance record and impeccable disciplinary record. Able to work unsupervised and with a team. Knowledge & understanding of a production environment. Good motivation skills. Good decision making and problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure. Obtaining a forklift license and operating a forklift is an inherent requirement of this position. Good communication skills.
