Role Purpose To bridge the gap between business challenges and technical solutions by eliciting, analyzing, and translating business requirements into detailed system specifications. This role focuses on the technical design, development coordination, testing, and deployment of software solutions to enable business objectives and optimize system performance. Experience and Qualifications Relevant IT qualification (Degree or Diploma) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (essential). Certifications CCBA certification (desirable) CBAP certification (desirable) Relevant technical certifications (e.g., Agile, Scrum, ITIL) (advantageous) Experience 5-10 years’ experience as a Systems Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst. Proven experience in software design, system integration, and technical documentation. Strong experience in and understanding the software development process Duties and Responsibilities Internal Process & System Design Keep abreast of the latest IT trends, system architectures, and practices to optimize service delivery and future‑proof the organisation. Analyze and understand business requirements, translating them into technical specifications, application development plans, or integration solutions. Contribute to translating strategic enterprise architecture and design principles into specific system requirements, interface definitions, and technical documentation. Develop and document implementation procedures for new systems, products, interfaces, releases, and enhancements. Provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing cost‑effective system solutions that meet business requirements and align with the existing technical landscape. Define the functionality, usability, reliability, performance, and support requirements of a system, ensuring non‑functional requirements are documented. Act as a liaison between key stakeholders, business units, and the IT project team to determine customer needs and solve these through automated systems. Develop detailed system requirements artefacts, technical process flows, entity relationship diagrams, and associated specifications to ensure architecture requirements are accurately documented. Lead cross‑functional teams in analyzing operational impacts and opportunities for technology changes across the business, focusing on system dependencies and integration points. Develop, update, and implement technical procedures to solve business problems, considering system capabilities, constraints, and desired results. Identify documentation needs and manage the design, writing, and delivery of appropriate technical and user documentation for applications utilized. Collaborate with the development and operations teams to provide advanced support for existing and new implementations, including troubleshooting, upgrade testing, and documentation maintenance. Diagnose complex issues reported by end users, identify root causes (system or process), and recommend sustainable solutions. Liaise with key stakeholders and the IT team to ensure that technology projects align with overall strategic business objectives and technical roadmaps. Define success criteria by developing and implementing a test strategy, ensuring that system testing covers all aspects of the business and technical specifications. Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and guide users to ensure that the designed system solution ultimately meets business requirements. Conduct activity‑based analysis of system processes and make recommendations for optimization, automation, and improved efficiency. Client & Stakeholder Management Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including business users, developers, architects, and third‑party vendors. Deliver on service level agreements applicable to clients and stakeholders to ensure expectations are managed and met. Make recommendations to improve client service and fair treatment of clients within the area of responsibility. Participate in and contribute to a culture that builds rewarding relationships, facilitates feedback, and provides exceptional service. Continuously monitor turnaround times and quality standards for system delivery and resolve issues speedily to enhance service delivery. Manage stakeholder query processes and ensure that queries are tracked, accurately resolved, and used as a mechanism to improve system functionality and business processes.
