Employer Description Our client is a precision engineering and machining services provider. Job Description Operate manual lathes for turning, facing, boring, threading, and taper work. Read and interpret engineering blueprints or technical drawings to understand required specifications. Use micrometers, vernier calipers, and gauges to ensure parts meet tight tolerances Machine worn parts to restore functionality, such as shafts, sleeves, and housings. Qualifications Trade Tested Turner/Machinist Skills A minimum of 5 years experience in operating conventional lathes Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering tolerances Knowledge of cutting tools, tool geometry and appropriate feeds and speeds Ability to perform turning, facing, boring, threading, parting, and taper turning Competence in setting up work pieces using chucks, collets, steady rests and centres Understanding of different materials (steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, plastics) Capability to perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting Use of precision measuring instruments (micrometers, verniers, dial indicators, bore gauges) Adherence to dimensional tolerances and surface finish requirements Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality system and completing job cards/inspection sheets Benefits Provident Fund Overtime
